Los Angeles County DEO Mobilizes Support Through Local Assistance Centers and Disaster Outreach Loan Centers

Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) will be joining federal, state, and local partners, including the County Office of Emergency Management (OEM), FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and local city governments, to provide on-site direct services to those impacted by the recent wildfires at the newly opened Local Assistance Centers (LACs) and SBA’s Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs). DEO will play a leading role by offering tailored workforce and business recovery services, including access to grants, employment assistance, and guidance for navigating state and federal resources.

The LACs will serve as a centralized hub where individuals, families, and business owners can access vital recovery resources, such as housing assistance, counseling, and referrals to state and federal disaster relief programs. FEMA representatives will be available to assist residents with registration and answer questions about federal aid, while SBA DLOCs will provide tailored assistance to small businesses, private nonprofits, and residents seeking low-interest disaster recovery loans for physical and economic damages.

“DEO is fully mobilized, offering on-site support at Local Assistance Centers and SBA Disaster Outreach Loan Centers. We are committed to remaining a reliable presence ensuring that our communities, our neighbors, and our businesses have access to the support they need to rebuild stronger than before, said Kelly LoBianco, Director of LA County DEO.
