Advisory: **6th Update for Palisades Fire – Tuesday, January 21, 2025** **Repopulation and Safety Guidelines**

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has announced an update regarding the repopulation of communities impacted by the Palisades Fire, effective 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

Zones Reopened to Residents:
– Zone C-111A**
– Zone C-112B**
– Zone U-030B**

All other road closures and evacuated areas related to the Palisades Fire remain in effect.

**Resident Access:**
Residents may enter the reopened zones through a **checkpoint** located at **22500 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu**. A detailed zone map is available at [protect.genasys.com](https://protect.genasys.com).

Staging and Assistance:
Repopulation staging will occur at the **Malibu Pier**, located at **23000 Pacific Coast Highway**. The **Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)** and the **Red Cross** will provide residents with essential supplies, including:

– Water
– Gloves
– Masks
– Wipes
– Flashlights
– Disaster recovery information

Safety Instructions for Residents:
Please drive carefully as emergency crews remain active in the area. Stay alert, obey traffic regulations, and proceed with caution. Utility workers are also repairing damages, and power, water, and gas services may still be disrupted. Report visible damage or strong gas odors to utility providers immediately.

Entry Requirements:
Residents must show **proof of residency** to re-enter the evacuated zones. Accepted documents include:
– A government-issued ID with your current address
– If your ID does not match the evacuated zone, additional proof such as a recent utility bill, mortgage documents, or property deed is required.

Debris Removal and Cleanup:
The Los Angeles County Health Officer has issued an order for safe fire debris removal. These activities must comply with local, state, and federal regulations. State and federal assistance has been requested to expedite recovery. More details will be provided at [recovery.lacounty.gov](https://recovery.lacounty.gov).

If you encounter debris that you suspect contains **human remains**, do not disturb the site. Contact your local Sheriff’s station immediately.

Returning to Fire-Affected Areas – Safety Tips:
1. **Follow Official Guidance:** Return only when authorities declare it safe.
2. **Inspect Your Surroundings:** Watch for unstable structures, downed power lines, and weakened trees.
3. **Wear Protective Clothing:** Use sturdy shoes, gloves, and masks to protect against debris and ash.
4. **Avoid Health Hazards:** Avoid contact with ash, which may be toxic. Use an N95 mask if needed.
5. **Check Utilities:** Do not restore power, gas, or water until inspected by professionals.
6. **Document Damage:** Photograph and document damage for insurance and assistance purposes.
7. **Care for Your Well-Being:** Returning can be overwhelming. Seek support from loved ones or counselors if necessary.
