Hazardous Household Waste Cleanup is Underway

Teams from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are on the ground in communities affected by the fires, clearing properties of hazardous waste such as asbestos, paint, household cleaners and lithium batteries, as part of Phase I of the fire debris removal process. This work is free to residents and essential before the regular debris can be removed in Phase II. read more
